For the first time in over a year, the skies were lit up at Walt Disney World with the return of 'Happily Ever After' at Magic Kingdom and 'Epcot Forever' at Epcot, but over at Universal, the fan-favorite 'Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle' made its return tonight as well.
We were there for the first two showings (at 9:00pm and 9:20pm on July 1st) to check out the show. Many gathered to see the return of the show, but if you want to see the show with less people, plan to watch towards the end of the night as the show runs every 20 minutes beginning at "dusk" (time will vary depending on the part of the year, but the team members will let you know an approximate time if you ask) with the final showing at the time of park close.
For the first showing tonight, a crowd began to form around an hour in advance. However, that is not necessary for a normal night. I stayed for the second viewing and those who showed up less than five minutes before got excellent viewing and it became easier as the night went on.
Here is our full video from the very first showing of the show in over a year. It was a very rainy night, but still a beautiful and fantastic sight to behold nonetheless.
It was my first time seeing this show and while the show is super brief, it is a lot of fun to watch and is a perfect offering for the Hogsmeade area of the Wizarding World. One thing I loved but did not expect were the lights in the bushes. I thought it added a lot to the atmosphere of the show. I took a super quick clip of the lights at the end of the show to show you what to look for if you've never seen the show before!
The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle is now showing at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure several times nightly!
