On January 15th, 2015, LEGOLAND Florida held a media event to announce the new LEGO Friends Heartlake City expansion as well as host the first ever Hard Hat Tour of the new LEGOLAND Hotel. Along the way, we learned many details about the hotel and that is what we will focus on in this post.
The event began at 9:30am with the announcement of the LEGO Friends Heartlake City (which will be the focus of an upcoming post) and some announcements about the new hotel. It was announced that the new LEGOLAND Hotel will be opening on May 15th of this year, 2015.
Afterwards, we were given the opportunity to be the first to go inside the new hotel and learn all about what the hotel will be like when it opens up in May. We got to get a closer look at the pool area as well as three of the four room themes that will be available.
The first stop on our tour was the future site of the hotel pool. It was revealed that it will be a zero-entry pool and up to five feet deep. At this stop, they also announced for the first time that they will be moving the Master Model Builder Workshop to the resort. Kids and adults will be able to watch as the Master Model Builders of LEGOLAND Florida build giant LEGO models. This will be a feature that only resort guests will be able to enjoy.
There will be two restaurants at the hotel, Bricks Family Restaurant and the Sky Line Lounge. Bricks Family Restaurant will be a buffet and will serve all three meals, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. There will be healthy options along with other food. Younger Kids will be able to reach the buffet bar to get their food. At the Sky Line Lounge, there will be a LEGO Skyline. In addition, there will be comical LEGO statues throughout.
In conclusion, the LEGOLAND Hotel is looking to be an amazing hotel. Even from its current state, it has impressed me. I look forward to seeing the final product when it opens on May 15th, 2015!
